It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the falling asleep of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas and the entire Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain express their condolences, sorrow and mourning to Her Majesty and the United Kingdom.
The Archdiocese directs its Christ-loving clergy and laity to pray for the repose of the soul of the late Prince Philip. His Eminence has announced a three-day state of official mourning in parishes of the Archdiocese, as a sign of respect for the Prince.
We also pray for the wellbeing, comfort and the stability of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Her entire Royal Family during this time.
