Adult Catechism Classes

- Bishop Maximos to visit Shrewsbury on 14 April.
On Sunday, 14 April, His Grace, Bishop Maximos, will make a pastoral visit to the Church in Shrewsbury. He will preside at the Divine Liturgy for the Fourth Sunday of the Fast: St John Climacus, at St. Julian’s Church, Shrewsbury, SY1 1UH. On 17 March, our community held its first Sunday service at Saint Julian’s Church in Shrewsbury at the kind invitation of the owner, Mr Andrew Wright and his wife Lexie. Andrew and Lexie are well-known in Shrewsbury and well-loved by many members of our community. They have been connected to our church since its very beginning. With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas, and as announced last Sunday, we will be celebrating our first Divine Liturgy at St. Julian’s Church, Shrewsbury, SY1 1UH, this Sunday, 17 March. Matins will start at 9.30am. The Divine Liturgy will start shortly after 10.30am. This is a momentous occasion in the life of our church and, if God’s will, may be the beginning of a new - Meatfare BBQ and Fundraiser

On Sunday, 21st January 2024, His Grace Bishop Maximos of Melitene presided at Matins and celebrated the Divine Liturgy. The Very Reverend Protopresbyter Stephen Maxfield and Presbyter Panteleimon Maxfield served with His Grace. Dearly beloved fellow travellers, We are absolutely delighted with the very first exterior icon at our church, of the Proto-Martyr Stephen and the Great Martyr Catherine of Alexandria, our own patron saints. How amazing that God has led us to the Orthodox Faith in such unlikely circumstances. What joy and peace we felt when we were received on St Nestor’s Day (27th November 1985) in the garage
